South Africa v Australia: Tri Nations Cup Live Online

Australia get a second bite at the cherry in ending their Highveld hoodoo when they tackle South Africa in Bloemfontein on Saturday, with the tournament wooden spoon still very much on the line. The visitors currently sit last on the Tri-Nations table but have a game in hand over the second-placed Springboks, who ran them down to win 44-31 last weekend at Loftus Versfeld. In a match in which tackles were missed rather than made, the embattled Springboks ground their noses over the finish line ahead of a Wallaby team short of finesse. The result also kept Australia's abysmal record at altitude (they have not won in 47 years) intact.

They could and should have won their last outing and now face South Africa for the second time in a week at altitude, however last week's Loftus experience will hold Australia in good stead for Saturday.

Previous results:2010: South Africa won 44-31 in Pretoria
2010: Australia won 30-13 in Brisbane
2009: Australia won 21-6 in Brisbane
2009: South Africa won 32-25 in Perth
2009: South Africa won 29-17 in Cape Town
2008: South Africa won 53-8 in Johannesburg
2008: Australia won 27-15 in Durban
2008: Australia won 16-9 in Perth
2007: Australia won 25-17 in Sydney
2007: South Africa won 22-19 in Cape Town
2006: South Africa won 24-16 in Johannesburg
2006: Australia won 20-18 in Sydney

Prediction: Having come so close last week, the Wallabies will be itching for another crack at South Africa and we believe the holy grail of a win at altitude is achievable in Bloemfontein this weekend. Australia to win by three!

All Blacks v South Africa: Rugby

New Zealand flanker Jerome Kaino has warned his team-mates to watch their discipline or risk paying the price against South Africa on Saturday.

The All Blacks entertain the defending champions in the opening match of the 2010 Tri-Nations - with Kaino believing the deadly accuracy of Springboks fly-half Morne Steyn could have a huge impact on the game.

"Our discipline comes into that," Kaino told NZPA.

"If we are solid in our discipline and don't give away silly penalties, I'm sure we'll take Morne out of the game."

The All Blacks have made three changes for the clash, with powerhouse centre Ma'a Nonu, veteran full-back Mils Muliaina and tighthead prop Owen Franks coming into the starting XV.

Israel Dagg, Benson Stanley and Neemia Tialata drop out of the matchday 22.

South Africa skipper John Smit believes the experience on his side's bench could prove the difference at Eden Park.

The likes of Danie Rossouw, Ruan Pienaar and Butch James have been named among the replacements for the clash - with all but Gio Aplon having reached double figures for Test appearances.

Devastating

In comparison, the All Blacks have opted to blood their rising stars - with Piri Weepu (37 caps) and Richard Kahui (10) the most experienced of the seven replacements.

And Smit has no doubt about the quality of options available to coach Peter de Villiers.

"He has players who can perhaps turn up the pace or give him a different feel," Smit old NZPA.

"We have big Danie as a loosie, which means if he comes on, he could be quite a devastating ball carrier.

"Gio can pretty much slot in the back three, speed things up and have a crack from out wide as well.

"There's a big flavour in our reserves, but it depends entirely on what Peter wants to do."

Rossouw is included in the Boks squad after overcoming a hip problem, while Botha has recovered from a hamstring injury.

New Zealand: 15 Mils Muliaina, 14 Cory Jane, 13 Conrad Smith, 12 Ma'a Nonu, 11 Joe Rokocoko, 10 Dan Carter, 9 Jimmy Cowan, 8 Kieran Read, 7 Richie McCaw (c), 6 Jerome Kaino, 5 Tom Donnelly, 4 Brad Thorn, 3 Owen Franks, 2 Keven Mealamu, 1 Tony Woodcock.
Replacements:16 Corey Flynn, 17 Ben Franks, 18 Samuel Whitelock, 19 Liam Messam, 20 Piri Weepu, 21 Aaron Cruden, 22 Richard Kahui.

South Africa:
15 Zane Kirchner, 14 Jean de Villiers, 13 Jaque Fourie, 12 Wynand Olivier, 11 Bryan Habana, 10 Morne Steyn, 9 Ricky Januarie, 8 Pierre Spies, 7 Francois Louw, 6 Schalk Burger, 5 Victor Matfield, 4 Bakkies Botha, 3 Jannie du Plessis, 2 John Smit (c), 1 Gurthro Steenkamp.
Replacements:16 Chiliboy Ralepelle, 17 BJ Botha, 18 Andries Bekker, 19 Danie Rossouw, 20 Ruan Pienaar, 21 Butch James, 22 Gio Aplon.
